Into the Darkness of Exploitation

I’ve read a lot of H. Rider Haggard, Robert E. Howard, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and other authors who thought that having the occasional interesting non-white-saviour character was like throwing them a bone, as if they were making a literary sacrifice to take any words or time away from their white protagonists, so I adamantly made the main character of this story Sima rather than the white saviour who showed up in her village and stole a relic. I’m quite pleased that that came through in the story and the review!
